**Victoria Louise Pendleton** (born 24 September 1980) is a British former [track cyclist](/source/Track_cycling) who specialised in the [sprint](/source/Sprint_(cycling)), [team sprint](/source/Team_sprint) and [keirin](/source/Keirin) disciplines. She is a former [Olympic](/source/Cycling_at_the_Summer_Olympics), World, [European](/source/European_Track_Championships) and [Commonwealth](/source/Commonwealth_Games) champion. She won three [Olympic medals](/source/Olympic_medals)—two golds and one silver during her career.

Pendleton won nine world titles, including a record-equalling six in the individual sprint between 2005 and 2012. She also won world titles in the team sprint in both [2007](/source/2007_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) and [2008](/source/2008_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint), as well as in the keirin in [2007](/source/2007_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin). At the [2008 Summer Olympics](/source/Cycling_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics), she won the gold medal in [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint), and in the [2012 Summer Olympics](/source/2012_Summer_Olympics), she won the gold medal in [the keirin](/source/Cycling_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin), as well as a silver medal in [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint). She also became a Commonwealth Games champion in [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2006_Commonwealth_Games_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) in 2006, and a European champion in the team sprint and keirin in [2011](/source/2011_UEC_European_Track_Championships). She retired from track cycling after the 2012 Olympics, and had a short career as a [jockey](/source/Jockey) from 2015‍–‍16. Riding Pacha Du Polder, she won her first race at [Wincanton](/source/Wincanton_Racecourse) in March 2016, and finished fifth in the [Foxhunter Chase](/source/St_James's_Place_Festival_Hunter_Chase) at the [Cheltenham Festival](/source/Cheltenham_Festival) later that month.

Pendleton was appointed [Member of the Order of the British Empire](/source/Member_of_the_Order_of_the_British_Empire) (MBE) in the [2009 New Year Honours](/source/2009_New_Year_Honours), and [Commander of the Order of the British Empire](/source/Commander_of_the_Order_of_the_British_Empire) (CBE) in the [2013 New Year Honours](/source/2013_New_Year_Honours) for services to cycling. She is also a member of the [British Cycling Hall of Fame](/source/British_Cycling_Hall_of_Fame).

## Early life

Victoria Pendleton was born on 24 September 1980,[5] and grew up with her twin brother and older sister in [Stotfold](/source/Stotfold), Bedfordshire.[5][6] Her father, Max, was a keen amateur cyclist and former British National 8 km grass track cycling champion.[7] He would take the nine-year-old twins out racing at the weekends and create children's races for them to compete in.[8] She was a member of Mildenhall Cycling Club.[9] Pendleton attended [Fearnhill School](/source/Fearnhill_School),[10] and played [hockey](/source/Field_hockey) for Harpenden.[8] She later said that the "traits that make an Olympic champion do not make for a popular teenage girl" at school and that she was "an outcast socially, which was painful".[11]

At the age of nine, Pendleton rode her first race, a 400 m event, on the grass track at [Fordham](/source/Fordham%2C_Cambridgeshire), Cambridgeshire. When she was 16, assistant national track coach, Marshall Thomas, invited her to a trial in [Manchester](/source/Manchester), where she cycled in a [velodrome](/source/Velodrome) for the first time. Thomas then assumed coaching responsibilities from her father. At that time, she did not envisage a career in cycling due to a lack of female role-models in the sport. She took a degree in [sports science](/source/Sports_science) at [Northumbria University](/source/Northumbria_University), Newcastle upon Tyne,[12][13][14] and in her final year at university, she trained with [British Cycling](/source/British_Cycling) one week per month. After graduating in 2002, she became a full-time cyclist.[15]

## Cycling career

### 2001–2008

Pendleton finished second in the 500 m [time trial](/source/Track_time_trial), 30 km [points race](/source/Points_race) and the [sprint](/source/Sprint_(cycling)) as well as recording a third-place finish in the [scratch race](/source/Scratch_race) at the 2001 [British National Track Championships](/source/British_National_Track_Championships).[16] From 2002–2004, she trained at the [World Cycling Centre](/source/World_Cycling_Centre) in [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland), under the tutelage of [Frederic Magne](/source/Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric_Magn%C3%A9).[17][18] Pendleton found the experience challenging, her wellbeing suffered, and she self-harmed. Pendleton frustrated Magne by veering away from her training programme and she explained: "I had always feared letting down figures of authority, my dad most of all, and so I felt diminished by disappointing Fred." British Cycling sent psychiatrist [Steve Peters](/source/Steve_Peters_(psychiatrist)) to meet her. The two began working together,[14] and she has since stated: "If it wasn't for Steve [Peters], I don't think I'd be cycling today."[13]

Pendleton competed at the [2002 Commonwealth Games](/source/2002_Commonwealth_Games), where she finished fourth in the sprint. In 2003, she recorded another fourth-place finish in the sprint at the [2003 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2003_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships).[19] In the [2003 World Cup](/source/2003_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics), she won the scratch race in [Sydney](/source/Sydney),[18] and the following year, she secured victory in the sprint at the [2004 World Cup](/source/2004_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics) event in Manchester.[20] She then finished fourth in the sprint at the [2004 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2004_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships).[19] At the [2004 Summer Olympics](/source/2004_Summer_Olympics), she finished sixth in [the 500 m time trial](/source/Cycling_at_the_2004_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_track_time_trial) and ninth in [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2004_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint).[21] Pendleton later said that she was not ready both physically and psychologically for the Olympics at that time,[15] and considered quitting the sport.[22] At the end of the year, she won the keirin at the [2004–05 World Cup](/source/2004%E2%80%9305_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics) meeting in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles).[23]

In January, Pendleton competed in a subsequent meeting of the World Cup in Manchester, where she claimed second place in the 500 m time trial.[24] She then won her first world title after finishing first in the sprint at the [2005 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2005_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships) in Los Angeles. She overcame [Anna Meares](/source/Anna_Meares) in the semi-finals, before triumphing against [Tamilla Abassova](/source/Tamilla_Abassova) in the final. She became the first British woman to become a track cycling world champion since [Beryl Burton](/source/Beryl_Burton) in 1966.[25] At the [2005–06 World Cup](/source/2005%E2%80%9306_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics) event in Manchester, Pendleton won the sprint and finished third in both the keirin and 500 m time trial.[26][27][28]

At the [2006 Commonwealth Games](/source/2006_Commonwealth_Games) in [Melbourne](/source/Melbourne), she won a silver medal in [the 500 m time trial](/source/Cycling_at_the_2006_Commonwealth_Games_%E2%80%93_Women's_500_m_time_trial) (behind Anna Meares). She then defeated Meares in the final of [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2006_Commonwealth_Games_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) to secure the gold medal.[29][30] The following month, at the [2006 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2006_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships) in [Bordeaux](/source/Bordeaux), Pendleton was unable to defend her world sprint title. She finished runner-up after she was beaten by [Natalia Tsylinskaya](/source/Natalia_Tsylinskaya) in the final.[31][32] In the keirin, an incident with rival Anna Meares caused Meares to be relegated, but Pendleton was left unable to challenge for a medal. Meares apologised afterwards, but the incident started a long-term rivalry between the pair.[33][34] Pendleton won three gold medals at the Manchester leg of the [2006–07 Track Cycling World Cup](/source/2006%E2%80%9307_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics), securing victories in the sprint, keirin and 500 m time trial.[35]

At the [2007 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2007_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships), she won [the team sprint](/source/2007_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) alongside [Shanaze Reade](/source/Shanaze_Reade), the [sprint](/source/2007_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) (overcoming [Guo Shuang](/source/Guo_Shuang) in the final),[36] and [the keirin](/source/2007_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin).[37] In December, she won gold in the keirin at the [2007–08 World Cup](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics) event in Sydney.[38] At the end of 2007, she was named [Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year](/source/Sunday_Times_Sportswomen_of_the_Year_Awards),[39] and the [Sports Journalists' Association](/source/Sports_Journalists'_Association)'s Sportswoman of the Year.[40]

Coming back from illness and a knee injury, Pendleton finished second in the sprint at the 2007–08 World Cup meeting in [Copenhagen](/source/Copenhagen).[41] During her build-up to the Olympics, she won two world titles at the [2008 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2008_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships) in [the sprint](/source/2008_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) (overcoming [Simona Krupeckaite](/source/Simona_Krupeckaite) in the final), and [the team sprint](/source/2008_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) (with Reade).[42] She was also second in [the keirin](/source/2008_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin).[43] At the [2008 Summer Olympics](/source/2008_Summer_Olympics), Pendleton won the gold medal in [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint). Her success made her the first British female cyclist to win a gold medal in the sprint at an Olympic Games.[44] She defeated Anna Meares in the final, and afterwards, she acknowledged the help that Steve Peters had had on her career since she started working with him. Pendleton was critical of the Olympics, after only three medal events in track cycling were available for women, whereas there were seven medal events in the men's Olympic schedule. Only one of the women's races was in a discipline that Pendleton competed in, and she said she felt "sick" by the decision.[19]

In October 2008, Pendleton joined the [Sky+HD Trade Team](/source/Sky_Track_Cycling).[45] In the [2008–09 World Cup](/source/2008%E2%80%9309_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics), she won three gold medals at the meeting in Manchester, triumphing in the keirin, sprint and 500 m time trial.[46]

### 2009–2012

She retained her world title in [the sprint](/source/2009_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) at the [2009 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2009_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships) in [Pruszków](/source/Pruszk%C3%B3w), with a photo-finish victory over [Willy Kanis](/source/Willy_Kanis). In addition to her world sprint title, Pendleton also finished second in [the team sprint](/source/2009_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) (with Reade), and third in [the 500 m time trial](/source/2009_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_500_m_time_trial).[47] In the [2009–10 World Cup](/source/2009%E2%80%9310_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics) event in Manchester, Pendleton finished first in the sprint, and second in the 500 m time trial.[48][49]

At the [2010 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2010_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships) in Copenhagen, Pendleton again retained her [world sprint](/source/2010_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) title. She defeated Anna Meares in the semi-finals before overcoming Guo in the final to achieve victory in the event for the fourth year in succession.[50] She also finished runner-up in [the kierin](/source/2010_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin).[51] Later that year, she won her ninth consecutive [British sprint](/source/British_National_Individual_Sprint_Championships) title at the National Championships.[52] She also won the 500 m time trial for the eighth time, her 25th national track title overall. Pendleton chose not to participate at the [2010 Commonwealth Games](/source/Cycling_at_the_2010_Commonwealth_Games) in order to focus on the upcoming [European Championships](/source/2010_UEC_European_Track_Championships).[53] There, she won a silver medal in [the team sprint](/source/2010_European_Track_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) with [Jessica Varnish](/source/Jessica_Varnish).[54] In the [2010–11 World Cup](/source/2010%E2%80%9311_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup_Classics), Pendleton won silver medals in the sprint and team sprint in Melbourne,[55][56] before securing gold medals in the team sprint and keirin in [Cali](/source/Cali).[57][58]

At the [2011 UCI Track Cycling World Championships](/source/2011_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships), Pendleton came second in [the team sprint](/source/2011_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) (with Varnish), third in [the sprint](/source/2011_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) (losing to Anna Meares in the semi-finals), and finished seventh in [the keirin](/source/2011_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin).[59][60] Her third-place position in the sprint meant that she failed to become world sprint champion for the first time since 2006, and she later said that this had affected her confidence and led to self-doubt. She stated: "The worst thing you can do is start doubting what you do. As soon as you start doubting your training programme and over-analysing it, you just start spiralling down."[61] Partnering Varnish, Pendleton won the team sprint in the National Championships.[62] At the [2011 European Track Championships](/source/2011_European_Track_Championships), Pendleton won [the team sprint](/source/2011_European_Track_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint)[63] and [keirin](/source/2011_European_Track_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin) titles, and finished eighth in [the sprint](/source/2011_European_Track_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint).[64]

In February 2012, Pendleton and Varnish set a new [team sprint world record](/source/World_record_progression_track_cycling_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) of 32.754 seconds while beating [Kaarle McCulloch](/source/Kaarle_McCulloch) and Anna Meares of Australia at the [Track World Cup](/source/2011-12_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Cup) in the [London Velodrome](/source/London_Velodrome).[65] In Pendleton's final [World Championships](/source/2012_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships), she won the women's [world sprint](/source/2012_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint) title for a record-equalling sixth time.[66] She progressed past Anna Meares in their semi-final on a photo finish before defeating [Simona Krupeckaitė](/source/Simona_Krupeckait%C4%97) 2–0, with the second win coming from a relegation to her opponent.[67] Pendleton finished without medals in her other two events, [the keirin](/source/2012_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin) and [the team sprint](/source/2012_UCI_Track_Cycling_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint).[68][69]

Pendleton celebrates winning the [keirin](/source/Cycling_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin) at the [2012 Summer Olympics](/source/2012_Summer_Olympics) in London.

At the [2012 Summer Olympics](/source/2012_Summer_Olympics), Pendleton and Varnish broke the world record in the qualifying stages of [the team sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_team_sprint) before being disqualified in the semi-finals due to an illegal change-over. Their world record was then beaten by China later in the event.[70] She recovered to win a gold medal in [the keirin](/source/Cycling_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_keirin), becoming the first British woman to win an individual gold medal at successive Olympic Games.[71][72] Pendleton set a new Olympic record of 10.724 seconds in the qualifiers of [the sprint](/source/Cycling_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_sprint),[73] but lost in the final to Anna Meares. Pendleton was relegated in the first run, and beaten in the second run, to finish with the silver medal.[74] This was Pendleton's final competitive race before she retired from professional cycling.[75]

### Later developments

In 2016, Pendleton, reflecting on the end of her cycling career, said that she had not enjoyed the atmosphere at British Cycling, stating: "I couldn't stay working with those people", adding: "If, four years ago, they'd made the changes that they’ve made now,[a] I would've been a lot happier."[77] She also stated that her professional relationship with coach [Shane Sutton](/source/Shane_Sutton) had deteriorated between the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.[78] In 2016, British Cycling carried out an in-house inquiry following allegations against Sutton by Pendleton's teammate Varnish. Sutton was cleared of all but one charge (using [sexist](/source/Sexism) language), but in 2017, British Cycling conceded that the organisation's achievements had "come at too high a price."[8][79]

### Horse racing and other sports

In March 2015, Pendleton, searching for a new challenge, announced that she was training to become a [jockey](/source/Jockey) with guidance from horse trainer [Paul Nicholls](/source/Paul_Nicholls_(horse_racing)). She stated that she had only ridden a horse for the first time a week previously, but it was her ambition to compete in the [Foxhunter Chase](/source/St_James's_Place_Festival_Hunter_Chase) at the 2016 [Cheltenham Festival](/source/Cheltenham_Festival).[80] In August 2015, she earned her amateur riders licence from the [British Horseracing Authority](/source/British_Horseracing_Authority),[81] and then made her competitive debut later that month, riding Royal Etiquette to a second-placed finish in the Betfair Novice Flat Amateur Riders' Handicap at [Ripon](/source/Ripon_Racecourse).[82] On 19 February 2016, Pendleton was unseated whilst riding Pachu du Polder at [Fakenham](/source/Fakenham_Racecourse). It was her first race under National Hunt Rules.[83] She then secured her maiden victory on 2 March 2016, guiding the same horse to success at [Wincanton](/source/Wincanton_Racecourse).[84]

On 18 March 2016, Pendleton, riding Pacha Du Polder, realized her aim of competing in the 2016 Foxhunter Chase at [Cheltenham](/source/Cheltenham_Racecourse), finishing fifth. She described the result as "probably the greatest achievement of my life."[85] In July 2017, at invitation of [English Heritage](/source/English_Heritage), she spent a bootcamp day at [Kenilworth Castle](/source/Kenilworth_Castle) to learn the basic trainings of the medieval sport of [jousting](/source/Jousting).[86]

## In the media

Pendleton featured on the cover of men's magazine *[FHM](/source/FHM)* in 2009.[87] In 2012, *[Harper's Bazaar](/source/Harper's_Bazaar)* magazine named her as joint recipient of British Ambassador of the Year in their Women of the Year Awards.[88] In February 2012, [Halfords](/source/Halfords) released a Pendleton branded range of women's bikes on which Pendleton herself had worked as a design consultant.[89][90] In the build up to the 2012 Summer Olympics, she was a brand ambassador for [Oral-B](/source/Oral-B) and [Pantene](/source/Pantene).[91]

Pendleton was the subject of a [BBC](/source/BBC) television documentary titled *Victoria Pendleton: Cycling's Golden Girl* which aired in July 2012.[92] Later that year, she was a contestant on [series 10](/source/Strictly_Come_Dancing_(series_10)) of *[Strictly Come Dancing](/source/Strictly_Come_Dancing)*,[93] in which her professional partner was [Brendan Cole](/source/Brendan_Cole). She was the seventh of the fourteen celebrities to leave the show.[94] Pendleton released an autobiography titled *Between the Lines* in September 2012.[95][96] At the [2014 Conservative Party Conference](/source/Conservative_Party_(UK)), Pendleton introduced the [Secretary of State for Education](/source/Secretary_of_State_for_Education) [Nicky Morgan](/source/Nicky_Morgan) before her keynote speech on 30 September, speaking about the importance of sport in education.[97] In 2016, Pendleton partnered with [Clinique](/source/Clinique), joining as a Difference Maker for the Clinique Difference Initiative, with the aim to inspire women and support the provision of educational and healthcare support.[98]

In May 2018, Pendleton was forced to abandon a charity [Everest ascent](/source/Mount_Everest_in_2018) that she was completing with TV presenter [Ben Fogle](/source/Ben_Fogle). At Base Camp 2 (6400 m of altitude), she experienced [hypoxia](/source/Hypoxia_(medical)) which was caused by a shortage of oxygen.[99] It took her three weeks of antibiotics to get over chest and ear infections.[100] In 2019, Pendleton stated that she had suffered severe [depression](/source/Depression_(mood)) and had contemplated suicide after her failed Everest expedition. She stated that [surfing](/source/Surfing) had helped her recovery and she subsequently became a patron of the Wave Project charity which utilises the sport as a therapy.[101]

In 2019, Pendleton competed on *[Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins](/source/Celebrity_SAS%3A_Who_Dares_Wins)* for [Stand Up to Cancer](/source/Stand_Up_to_Cancer_(UK)) (SU2C).[102] Pendleton was accused of creating a "toxic" atmosphere during the filming of TV show *Don't Rock the Boat* in November 2020 by crew mate [Craig Charles](/source/Craig_Charles).[103] In 2021, she co-commentated on the cycling as part of the BBC's [Summer Olympics](/source/2020_Summer_Olympics) coverage.[104] Pendleton has also appeared in the TV show *[The Dog House](/source/The_Dog_House_(TV_series))* in which she adopted a rescued [Rhodesian Ridgeback](/source/Rhodesian_Ridgeback).[105]

## Personal life

Pendleton was made a [Member of the Order of the British Empire](/source/Order_of_the_British_Empire) (MBE) in the [2009 New Year Honours](/source/2009_New_Year_Honours), and she was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the [2013 New Year Honours](/source/2013_New_Year_Honours) for services to cycling.[106][107][108] In 2014, she was inducted into the [British Cycling Hall of Fame](/source/British_Cycling_Hall_of_Fame).[109]

In 2012, The [Royal Mail](/source/Royal_Mail) painted a postbox gold in Pendleton's hometown of [Stotfold](/source/Stotfold) to honour her gold medal at the Olympic Games.[110] In 2012, the Royal Mail also released a set of commemorative stamps from the 2012 Olympics, with Pendleton's win in the keirin featuring on one.[111]

Pendleton's relationship with Scott Gardner, a [sports scientist](/source/Sports_scientist) with British Cycling's coaching team, caused problems, as it was considered to be unprofessional for two members of the team to be romantically involved. Following the 2008 Olympics, when it became more widely known, Gardner left the team, though he was later re-hired after Pendleton suffered a loss of form.[112][113] The couple married in September 2013.[114] They initially hid their relationship from other members of the team, and when the news came out, Pendleton said: "They were so upset with me – disgusted, like I'd committed a crime," adding: "But the relationship didn’t make me any less of an athlete or any less professional or any less successful." Pendleton also said the reaction left her "distraught".[115] In July 2018, she announced that they were separating.[116]

She is in a relationship with Louis Tinsley, an ex-special forces member whom she met while filming *Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins* in 2019.[8] In June 2023, she announced that her brother had died from a brain tumour.[117] In July 2024, Pendleton was made [Honorary Colonel](/source/Colonel_(United_Kingdom)#Honorary_Colonel) and corps ambassador to [HM Royal Marines](/source/HM_Royal_Marines).[118] She has a tattoo of the song lyric 'Today is the greatest day I've ever known' from [The Smashing Pumpkins](/source/The_Smashing_Pumpkins)' song "[Today](/source/Today_(The_Smashing_Pumpkins_song))" on her arm.[119]
