# Victor Wulf

**Victor Wulf** is a Canadian [keyboard player](/source/Keyboard_player) and composer. He is recognized for his solo [ambient music](/source/Ambient_music) project [Dilate](/source/Dilate_(musical_project)) and as a founding member of [sound collage](/source/Sound_collage) band [Vampire Rodents](/source/Vampire_Rodents).

## Biography

Victor Wulf was involved in composing music for television since 1977.[1] In June 1989, Wulf and Vahnke founded [Vampire Rodents](/source/Vampire_Rodents), a project that incorporated elements of [industrial rock](/source/Industrial_rock) and [sound collage](/source/Sound_collage).[2] The duo released three albums: *[War Music](/source/War_Music_(Vampire_Rodents_album))* (1990), *[Premonition](/source/Premonition_(Vampire_Rodents_album))* (1992) and *[Lullaby Land](/source/Lullaby_Land_(album))* (1993). During this time, Wulf was primary influenced by [Can](/source/Can_(band)), [Bernard Herrmann](/source/Bernard_Herrmann), [John Zorn](/source/John_Zorn) and [big band music](/source/Big_band).[3]

Wulf became less involved in the writing process with each album and he decided to leave Vampire Rodents after the release of *Lullaby Land*. Wulf founded his own [ambient music](/source/Ambient_music) project [Dilate](/source/Dilate_(musical_project)) in 1995. After being picked up by [Cleopatra Records](/source/Cleopatra_Records), he released *[Cyclos](/source/Cyclos_(album))* in early 1996.[4] *[Octagon](/source/Octagon_(Dilate_album))* was released in 1997.
