She was also the Democratic nominee for [lieutenant governor](/source/Lieutenant_Governor_of_Indiana), in the [2012 Indiana Gubernatorial Election](/source/Indiana_gubernatorial_election%2C_2012), running with the former [Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives](/source/Speaker_of_the_Indiana_House_of_Representatives) [John R.
