**Vev** or **Vew** (majuscule: Վ; minuscule: վ; [Armenian](/source/Armenian_language): վեվ; [Classical Armenian](/source/Classical_Armenian): վեւ) is the 30th letter of the [Armenian alphabet](/source/Armenian_alphabet). It represents the [voiced labiodental fricative](/source/Voiced_labiodental_fricative) (/v/), similar to the English *v* sound as in *village*. It is typically [romanized](/source/Romanization_of_Armenian) with the letter [V](/source/V).[1] It was part of the alphabet created by [Mesrop Mashtots](/source/Mesrop_Mashtots) in the [5th century CE](/source/5th_century_CE).

In the [Armenian numeral](/source/Armenian_numerals) system, it has a value of 3000.[2]

## Use in Wikipedia logo

The [logo of Wikipedia](/source/Logo_of_Wikipedia) features the uppercase letter Vev, alongside several other characters from different alphabets.[3] The letter is visible near the upper left corner of the globe on the Wikipedia logo.
