'''Vernon William Edward Goodin''' (24 July 1892 – 12 October 1971) was an Australian politician.

Goodin was born in [Kenthurst](/source/Kenthurst%2C_New_South_Wales) near [Sydney](/source/Sydney) and educated at Albion Street Superior public school and [Sydney Boys High School](/source/Sydney_Boys_High_School),<ref name="SHSOBU">{{cite web |title=Members of parliament and legislatures |url=https://www.shsobu.org.au/wp-content/uploads/mps.pdf |publisher=Sydney High School Old Boys Union |access-date=3 September 2019 |archive-date=23 March 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190323090439/http://www.shsobu.org.au/wp-content/uploads/mps.pdf |url-status=dead }}</ref> and became a teacher in state schools. Goodin was elected as a [Labor Party](/source/Australian_Labor_Party_(New_South_Wales_Branch)) member for the seat of [Murray](/source/Electoral_district_of_Murray) in the [New South Wales Legislative Assembly](/source/New_South_Wales_Legislative_Assembly) in 1925.  After being expelled from the party for opposition to [Jack Lang](/source/Jack_Lang_(Australian_politician)) he lost his seat in 1927 and returned to teaching.<ref name=nsw/>

Goodin married Leila Edith Rosenthall in 1939 and had one daughter and one son.  He died in the Sydney suburb of [Carlingford](/source/Carlingford%2C_New_South_Wales).<ref name=nsw/>
