# Vermist

***Vermist*** is a Dutch-language [crime drama](/source/Crime_drama) produced by Belgian broadcaster [VT4](/source/VT4) and Dutch production company [Eyeworks](/source/Eyeworks).[1] It was broadcast on VT4 in [Flanders](/source/Flanders) and on [Fox](/source/Fox_(Netherlands)) in the Netherlands.[2] A French dubbed version called *Urgence disparitions* was broadcast on [W9](/source/W9_(TV_channel)).[3]

Based on the characters and background of the successful Flemish film [*Vermist (Missing Persons)*](/source/Missing_Persons_(2007_film)), the first episode was broadcast on March 25, 2008. The seventh and last season was broadcast in 2016.[4]

The storylines revolve around a team from the Missing Persons Unit (*Cel Vermiste Personen*) of the [Belgian Federal Police](/source/Federal_Police_(Belgium)), which is responsible for tracking down missing persons.[5]

The series and its actors have been nominated for several television awards, including the Radio and Television Critics Award, [Vlaamse Televisie Sterren](/source/Vlaamse_Televisie_Sterren) and the television awards of the [Monte-Carlo Television Festival](/source/Monte-Carlo_Television_Festival).[6]
