In 1912, Sisson applied for work as an extra at [Universal Pictures](/source/Universal_Pictures) and made her film debut in ''The Helping Hand'' (1913). Sisson received recognition as [J. Warren Kerrigan](/source/J._Warren_Kerrigan)'s leading lady in seven successful films, including ''The Sandhill Lovers'' (1914), [The Oyster Dredger](/source/The_Oyster_Dredger) (1915), and ''A Bogus Bandit'' (1915). In 1915, Sisson was offered a contract with [Biograph Studios](/source/Biograph_Studios), and the following year she married actor and director [Richard Rosson](/source/Richard_Rosson). Sisson costarred with [Harold Lockwood](/source/Harold_Lockwood) and [Virginia Rappe](/source/Virginia_Rappe) in ''[Paradise Garden](/source/Paradise_Garden_(film))'' (1917), [Rudolph Valentino](/source/Rudolph_Valentino) in ''[The Married Virgin](/source/The_Married_Virgin)'' (1918), and [Constance Talmadge](/source/Constance_Talmadge) in ''[Experimental Marriage](/source/Experimental_Marriage)'' (1919).
