***Vellayani Paramu*** is a 1979 Indian [Malayalam](/source/Malayalam)-language [period](/source/Period_film) drama film directed by [J. Sasikumar](/source/J._Sasikumar), written by [Pappanamkodu Lakshmanan](/source/Pappanamkodu_Lakshmanan), and produced by E. K. Thyagarajan. It is based on the life of Vellayani Paramu, an outlaw active in the [Central Travancore](/source/Central_Travancore) region known for stealing from rich and giving to poor. The film stars [Prem Nazir](/source/Prem_Nazir), [Jayan](/source/Jayan), [Jayabharathi](/source/Jayabharathi) and [Adoor Bhasi](/source/Adoor_Bhasi). The film has musical score by [G. Devarajan](/source/G._Devarajan). The film was released on 23 February 1979.[1][2][3]
