# Veli Rat

**Veli Rat** is a [village](/source/Village) in [Croatia](/source/Croatia) on the island of [Dugi Otok](/source/Dugi_Otok), with a population of around 300 people. It is connected to other villages on the island by the [D109 highway](/source/D109_(Croatia)). Veli Rat's population increases during the summer because of the tourists. To the northwest of the village is the [Veli Rat lighthouse](/source/Veli_Rat_Lighthouse).[1]
