'''Vaura''' is an American [experimental](/source/experimental_music) band from [Brooklyn](/source/Brooklyn), [New York](/source/New_York_(state)), United States, formed in 2009 by singer, guitarist and primary songwriter [Joshua Strachan](/source/Joshua_Strachan) and featuring [Kevin Hufnagel](/source/Kevin_Hufnagel) ([Dysrhythmia](/source/Dysrhythmia_(band)),  [Gorguts](/source/Gorguts)) on lead guitar, [Toby Driver](/source/Toby_Driver) ([Kayo Dot](/source/Kayo_Dot), [Maudlin of the Well](/source/Maudlin_of_the_Well), [Secret Chiefs 3](/source/Secret_Chiefs_3)) on bass.

Vaura's debut album, ''Selenelion'', was released on [Wierd Records](/source/Wierd_Records) in February 2011. In early 2013, Vaura was signed to [Profound Lore Records](/source/Profound_Lore_Records).
