**Valley Forge Park station** (also known as **Port Kennedy station**) is a former train station in [Valley Forge, Pennsylvania](/source/Valley_Forge%2C_Pennsylvania). The station is visible from [Sullivan's Bridge](/source/Sullivan's_Bridge) in the [Valley Forge National Historic Park](/source/Valley_Forge_National_Historic_Park). Valley Forge Park station was originally built by the [Reading Railroad](/source/Reading_Railroad) as Port Kennedy station, and later served the [SEPTA diesel service](/source/SEPTA_diesel_service) extending from the Norristown section of the [Manayunk/Norristown Line](/source/Manayunk%2FNorristown_Line) to [Pottsville](/source/Pottsville%2C_Pennsylvania). Service was originally suspended prior to SEPTA taking over from Reading Railroad but was opened in 1976 for the American bicentennial.[2] In 1981, the station was closed again when [SEPTA](/source/SEPTA) discontinued the diesel service.
