## Geography

Vallenay is an area of [forestry](/source/Forestry) and [farming](/source/Farming). It comprises two villages and a couple of hamlets, situated in the valley of the river [Cher](/source/Cher_(river)), about 20 miles (32 km) south of [Bourges](/source/Bourges), at the junction of the D3 and D38 road. The [A71 autoroute](/source/A71_autoroute) runs through the commune’s eastern territory.
