**Valery Yakovlevich Volkov** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Валерий Яковлевич Волков; born 26 July 1947, in [Yaroslavl](/source/Yaroslavl)) is a former [Soviet](/source/Soviet_Union) [equestrian](/source/Equestrianism) and [Olympic](/source/Olympic_Games) [champion](/source/Champion). He won a team gold medal in [eventing](/source/Eventing) at the [1980 Summer Olympics](/source/1980_Summer_Olympics) in [Moscow](/source/Moscow).[1]
