# Val Sinestra

The '''Val Sinestra''' ([Romansh](/source/Romansh_language) lit.: "left valley") is a valley of the [Swiss Alps](/source/Swiss_Alps), located in the [Engadin](/source/Engadin) between the [Silvretta](/source/Silvretta_Alps) and the [Samnaun](/source/Samnaun_Alps) ranges. The valley is drained by ''La Brancla'', a tributary of the [Inn](/source/Inn_(river)) basin, near [Ramosch](/source/Ramosch). The highest mountains in the Val Sinestra are the [Muttler](/source/Muttler) (3,293 m), [Piz Tschütta](/source/Piz_Tsch%C3%BCtta) (3,254 m) and [Piz Tasna](/source/Piz_Tasna) (3,179 m). The valley is approximately 10 kilometres long.

The valley belongs to the municipalities of [Sent](/source/Sent%2C_Switzerland) and Ramosch in the Swiss canton of [Graubünden](/source/Graub%C3%BCnden). The main localities in Val Sinestra are [Zuort](/source/Zuort) and [Vnà](/source/Vn%C3%A0).

The Val Sinestra is connected to the [Val Fenga](/source/Val_Fenga) by the 2,608 metre high pass named ''Cuolmen d'Fenga''.

There is also a Hotel from 1912 in the valley, which used to serve as a [Kurhaus](/source/Spa) (spa house). The 2022 Dutch film ''[Hotel Sinestra](/source/Hotel_Sinestra)'' takes place at this hotel.
