**Vahid Talebloo** ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): وحيد طالب‌لو; born 26 May 1982 in [Tehran](/source/Tehran), [Iran](/source/Iran)) is a retired [Iranian](/source/Iran) [football goalkeeper](/source/Goalkeeper_(association_football)).

## Club career

He began receiving media attention when he was able to save [Ali Daei](/source/Ali_Daei)'s spot kick in an [IPL](/source/Iran's_Premier_League_football) match at the beginning of the [2005/2006](/source/IPL_2005%2F06) season. Ever since then he has become the main goalkeeper for Esteghlal and was one of the keys to [Esteghlal Tehran FC](/source/Esteghlal_Tehran_FC) winning the IPL championship in the 05/06 season.

Among a series of good performances was his game against city rivals [Persepolis](/source/Persepolis_FC) in which he made eight saves including a penalty shot stop and three one-on-one grabs. In August 2006, Talebloo signed a one-year contract extension with [Esteghlal F.C.](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.) although he had said that he will leave [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_Tehran_FC) because the directors there had not kept the promises they made to him.

Talebloo extended his contract again with [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_Tehran_FC) by signing a 2-year contract on 1 March 2007.

In [2007–08 Hazfi Cup](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_Hazfi_Cup), he took [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_Tehran_FC) to the final himself by stopping penalties in matches against [Zob Ahan](/source/Zob_Ahan_Isfahan_F.C.), [Rah Ahan](/source/Rah_Ahan_F.C.) and [Foolad](/source/Foolad_F.C.). His most memorable stop was against Iranian legend [Ali Daei](/source/Ali_Daei). He was a regular player in 2008–09 for [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_Tehran_FC) and was one of the key players. He stayed in [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.) for another two seasons where he had to compete with [Mohammad Mohammadi](/source/Mohammad_Mohammadi_(footballer)) for a place on the team.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

After [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.) bought the [Team Melli](/source/Team_Melli) keeper [Mehdi Rahmati](/source/Mehdi_Rahmati), he left Esteghlal for [Shahin Bushehr](/source/Shahin_Bushehr_F.C.) in summer 2011 where he played most of the season but missed the last four matches due to the broken shoulder. He left Shahin after the team's relegation to the [Azadegan League](/source/Azadegan_League). ## International career

Talebloo before an Iran game

He made his debut for [Iran](/source/Iran_national_football_team) in the [Asian Cup 2007 qualifying match](/source/Asian_Cup_2007_(qualification)#Group_B) against [Chinese Taipei](/source/Chinese_Taipei_national_football_team) in February 2006. In August 2006, Talebloo appeared against [UAE](/source/UAE_national_football_team) and also against [Syria](/source/Syria_national_football_team) in [Amir Ghalenoei](/source/Amir_Ghalenoei)'s first official games as the new *[Team Melli](/source/Team_Melli)* manager.

In July 2007, he joined the Iranian squad for the [2007 Asian Cup](/source/2007_Asian_Cup) and appeared in Iran's last game against [Korea Republic](/source/Korea_Republic_national_football_team). Finally he got the chance to prove himself and played in [West Asian Football Federation Championship 2008](/source/West_Asian_Football_Federation_Championship_2008) and won the competition with Team Melli.
