# Upper Dunsforth

**Upper Dunsforth** is a village in located in the civil parish of [Dunsforths](/source/Dunsforths), in the county of [North Yorkshire](/source/North_Yorkshire), [England](/source/England). It was mentioned in the [Domesday Book](/source/Domesday_Book) (1086) as *Doneforde*/*Dunesford*/*Dunesforde*.[1]

Until 1974 it was part of the [West Riding of Yorkshire](/source/West_Riding_of_Yorkshire).[2] From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the [Borough of Harrogate](/source/Borough_of_Harrogate), it is now administered by the unitary [North Yorkshire Council](/source/North_Yorkshire_Council).
