**Uppada Beach** is located near [Kakinada](/source/Kakinada) in [Kakinada district](/source/Kakinada_district) of the [Indian state](/source/Indian_state) of [Andhra Pradesh](/source/Andhra_Pradesh).[1] [APTDC](/source/APTDC) undertakes the developmental activities in order to promote tourism.[2][3]

## Cyclone effects

After the beach was eroded by [Cyclone Helen](/source/Cyclone_Helen_(2013)) in 2013, a retaining wall was built to protect from future damage.[4]
