It is member of the [Fédération Régions et Peuples Solidaires](/source/F%C3%A9d%C3%A9ration_R%C3%A9gions_et_Peuples_Solidaires) in France and the [European Free Alliance](/source/European_Free_Alliance) of the [European Union](/source/European_Union).

It was formed after [Union du peuple alsacien](/source/Union_du_peuple_alsacien) (founded in 1988) and [Fer's Elsass](/source/Fer's_Elsass) (founded in 2002) merged in 2009.
