# Unity (newspaper)

***Unity*** is a weekly newspaper that was produced by the [Communist Party of Ireland](/source/Communist_Party_of_Ireland) (CPI) until 2021.[2] Since then it has been published independently but not by the Communist Party of Ireland.[3] Previously, it was published by the [Communist Party of Northern Ireland](/source/Communist_Party_of_Northern_Ireland) (CPNI) prior to its merger with the southern party which formed the Communist Party of Ireland. The CPNI also published the newspaper *[The Red Hand](/source/The_Red_Hand_(Newspaper))*.

Contributors to the paper included many figures in the Irish communist movements including [Sam Nolan](/source/Sam_Nolan), [Betty Sinclair](/source/Betty_Sinclair), and [James Stewart](/source/James_Stewart_(Irish_politician)) who edited the paper. *Unity* is still produced in [Belfast](/source/Belfast).

The Communist Party of Ireland's official monthly publication is the *[Socialist Voice](/source/Socialist_Voice_(Ireland))*.[4]
