[Illinois Route 127](/source/Illinois_Route_127) passes by Unity south of [Tamms](/source/Tamms,_Illinois). The population as of the 2020 census was 98.[2] ## Geography According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Unity has a total area of 0.70 square miles (1.81 km2), all land.[3] ## Demographics Unity first appeared as a [census designated place](/source/Census_designated_place) in the [2020 U.S. census](/source/2020_U.S._census).[4] ### 2020 census Unity CDP, Illinois – Racial and ethnic composition Note: the US Census treats Hispanic/Latino as an ethnic category. The population density was 139.80 inhabitants per square mile (53.98 /km2). There were 54 housing units at an average density of 77.03 inhabitants per square mile (29.74 /km2).
