In April 1999, [Union Pacific Corporation](/source/Union_Pacific_Corporation), then based in [Dallas, Texas](/source/Dallas), announced that it would be moving its headquarters to Omaha, Nebraska.<ref>{{Cite news |last=Jordan |first=Steve |date=April 15, 1999 |title=U.P. == Design ==
The Union Pacific Center is often described as resembling a cube, due to the building's width to height ratio. The [façade](/source/fa%C3%A7ade) is made primarily granite, and tinted glass. The Union Pacific Center contains several setbacks.{{Citation needed|date=April 2025}}
