"**Undecided**" is a [popular](/source/Traditional_popular_music) song written by Sid Robin with music by [Charlie Shavers](/source/Charlie_Shavers) and published in 1938.

## Recordings

- The first recording was made by [John Kirby](/source/John_Kirby_(musician)) and The Onyx Club Boys on October 28, 1938, and released by [Decca Records](/source/Decca_Records) as catalog number 2216,[1] with the [B-side](/source/A-side_and_B-side), "From A Flat to C".[2]
- It was also recorded by [Chick Webb](/source/Chick_Webb) and his Orchestra with vocal by [Ella Fitzgerald](/source/Ella_Fitzgerald) on February 17, 1939, and released by [Decca Records](/source/Decca_Records) as catalog number 2323, with the [B-side](/source/A-side_and_B-side), "In the Groove at the Grove".[2]
- The [Dandridge Sisters](/source/Dandridge_Sisters) recorded a cover in July 1939, and [Django Reinhardt](/source/Django_Reinhardt) recorded a version with [Quintette du Hot Club de France](/source/Quintette_du_Hot_Club_de_France), and [Beryl Davis](/source/Beryl_Davis) on vocals, in August of the same year.[citation needed]
- The biggest hit version was recorded by [The Ames Brothers](/source/The_Ames_Brothers) with [Les Brown](/source/Les_Brown_(bandleader))'s orchestra on June 25, 1951, and released by [Coral Records](/source/Coral_Records) as catalog number 60566, with the [B-side](/source/A-side_and_B-side), "[Sentimental Journey](/source/Sentimental_Journey_(song))".[3] It first reached the *[Billboard](/source/Billboard_(magazine))* chart on September 28, 1951, and lasted 20 weeks on the chart, peaking at number 6.[4]
- Also in 1951, a bebop treatment of the song was released by [Gene Ammons](/source/Gene_Ammons).[5] [Billy May](/source/Billy_May) recorded the song as part of his 1955 album *[Arthur Murray Cha Cha Mambos](/source/Arthur_Murray_Cha_Cha_Mambos)*.
