**Ulrome** is a village and [civil parish](/source/Civil_parish) in the [East Riding of Yorkshire](/source/East_Riding_of_Yorkshire), England. It is situated approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) north of the town of [Hornsea](/source/Hornsea) and on the east side of the [B1242 road](/source/B1242_road). The parish includes the village of [Lissett](/source/Lissett). Its area is 1,139.535 hectares (2,815.85 acres),[2] in 2011 had a population of 239,[1] a reduction on the [2001 UK census](/source/United_Kingdom_Census_2001) figure of 260.[3]

St Andrews Church

The parish church of St Andrew is a [Grade II listed building](/source/Grade_II_listed_building).[4]

The name Ulrome probably derives from the [Old English](/source/Old_English) *Wulfherehām* meaning 'Wulfhere's village'.[5]

## Civil parish

Although the civil parish is called "Ulrome"[6] its parish council is called "Lissett & Ulrome Parish Council".[7] On 1 April 1935 Lissett parish was abolished and merged with Ulrome, the parish also gained part of [Barmston](/source/Barmston%2C_East_Riding_of_Yorkshire).[8]

Cables from the offshore 2.4 GW [Dogger Bank Wind Farm](/source/Dogger_Bank_Wind_Farm) make landfall to the north of Ulrome.[9]
