==Club career==
Ramos was born in [Tocopilla](/source/Tocopilla) in 1919 to a middle-class family. Ten years later, he alongside his family moved to the capital [Santiago](/source/Santiago%2C_Chile). He attended [Instituto Nacional](/source/Instituto_Nacional) and once graduated of there, he entered to study [dentistry](/source/dentistry) at [University of Chile](/source/University_of_Chile) in 1937.<ref name=esc>{{cite web|work=El Sendero Continuar|title=Ulises Ramos: desde la pampa al cielo azul|url=http://elsenderocontinuar.blogspot.com/2011/08/ulises-ramos-desde-la-pampa-al-cielo.html|access-date=19 August 2014|date=30 August 2016}}</ref>

In 1939, he joined [Audax Italiano](/source/Audax_Italiano) to play professional football. Thirty years later, in 1969, Ramos became as manager of Universidad de Chile, reaching a league title and achieving being the first to be champion as player and coach of the club.
