# Udipur

**Udipur** (Nepali: [उदीपुर](https://ne.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%A4%89%E0%A4%A6%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%B0)) is a town and market place at [Besishahar Municipality](/source/Besisahar) in [Lamjung District](/source/Lamjung_District) in the [Gandaki Zone](/source/Gandaki_Zone) of northern-central [Nepal](/source/Nepal).[1] The [Besishahar Municipality](/source/Besisahar) was formed by merging the existing [Village Development Committees](/source/Village_development_committee_(Nepal)) i.e. [Besishahar](/source/Besisahar), [Gaunshahar](/source/Gaunsahar), **Udipur** & [Chandisthan](/source/Chandisthan) on May 15, 2014.[2][3][4] Middle Marshyandi Hydro Electricity is located in this place. The famous temple of Udipur Kalika is located here. This place is in the way of [Annapurna Conservation Area](/source/Annapurna_Conservation_Area). The Dumre-Besishahar-Chame highway also goes from this place. Here are different casts and religions.

## Population

At the time of the [2011 Nepal census](/source/2011_Nepal_census) it had a population of 2,692(1,482 Female & 1,210 Male) people living in 698 individual [Households](/source/Households).[5][6]
