On October 20, 2004, a [supernova impostor](/source/supernova_impostor) was observed by Japanese [amateur astronomer](/source/Amateur_astronomy) [Kōichi Itagaki](/source/K%C5%8Dichi_Itagaki)  within the galaxy.
