The **UAAP Ballroom Formation Competition** is a contest on [dance sport](/source/Dancesport) among member-schools of the [University Athletic Association of the Philippines](/source/University_Athletic_Association_of_the_Philippines). Its first edition was held on 3 September 2016 in UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Arena.[1][2]

It has two categories: the [Latin](/source/Latin_dance) division and the [Standard](/source/Ballroom_dance#Standard/Smooth) division. The competition is only a special event sport; thus, it has no bearing on the overall standing.[3]

In its first competition, seven out of all eight UAAP member-schools joined. [University of the Philippines](/source/University_of_the_Philippines) Ballroom Formation Team won both categories.

Latin Mixed was added for its third edition in [UAAP Season 85](/source/UAAP_Season_85) where UP claimed the first-ever title.[4]

## Categories

- Latin division – Consisted of [cha-cha-cha](/source/Cha-cha-cha_(dance)), [rumba](/source/Rhumba), and [jive](/source/Jive_(dance)).

- Standard division – Consisted of [waltz](/source/International_standard_waltz), [tango](/source/Tango), and [quickstep](/source/Quickstep).
