# Type 381 radar

The **Type 381** ([NATO reporting name](/source/NATO_reporting_name): **Rice Screen**) is a [3D](/source/3D_radar) G-band air search [radar](/source/Radar) developed by the [People's Republic of China](/source/People's_Republic_of_China).[1] It was the first modern air search radar fitted to a [People's Liberation Army Navy](/source/People's_Liberation_Army_Navy) warship, the Type 053K frigate *[Yingtan](/source/Chinese_frigate_Yingtan_(531))*.[2]
