### Karting and car racing debut (2012–2019)

Gonzalez began karting in 2012. Racing in karts until 2019, Gonzalez most notably won the Florida Winter Tour in Mini Max and the [SKUSA SuperNationals](/source/SKUSA_SuperNationals) in X30 Junior in 2016,[1][2] before following that up with Junior Rok and Rotax Junior titles in the Florida Winter Tour the following year.[3][4]

In his last year of full-time karting in 2018, Gonzalez joined Copeland Motorsports to make his car racing debut in the [Mazda MX-5 Cup](/source/Mazda_MX-5_Cup) at the non-championship invitational round at [Sebring](/source/Sebring_International_Raceway).[5] Following that, Gonzalez returned to the team in 2019 to compete in his first full season of car racing.[6] Having taken a best result of fifth at [Barber](/source/Barber_Motorsports_Park), Gonzalez left the series after three rounds, and joined [Bryan Herta Autosport](/source/Bryan_Herta_Autosport) with [Curb Agajanian](/source/Curb_Agajanian_Performance_Group) for the final round of that year's [TC America](/source/2019_TC_America_Series) season in the TCA class.[7]

Staying in [TC America](/source/2020_TC_America_Series) for 2020, Gonzalez remained in the TCA class but switched to Copeland Motorsports for his first full-season in the series.[8] Having taken an early championship lead by winning four times in the first three rounds,[9] but after scoring only three podiums in the last three rounds, Gonzalez ended the year third in points as Kevin Boehm won the title.[10] At the end of the year, Gonzalez made his debut in the TCR class of the [Michelin Pilot Challenge](/source/2020_Michelin_Pilot_Challenge) alongside [Tyler Maxson](/source/Tyler_Maxson) with Copeland Motorsports.[11] Racing at both [Road Atlanta](/source/Road_Atlanta) and [Sebring](/source/Sebring_International_Raceway), the duo scored their maiden series podium in the latter by finishing second.[12]

Returning to [Michelin Pilot Challenge](/source/2021_Michelin_Pilot_Challenge) and Copeland Motorsports for 2021,[13] Gonzalez and Maxson scored the pole at [Lime Rock Park](/source/Lime_Rock_Park) alongside a pair of podium finishes at the former and at [Road Atlanta](/source/Road_Atlanta) en route to a tenth-place championship finish.[14][15][16]

Gonzalez returned to the series the following year, switching to Van der Steur Racing for his sophomore season,[17] with whom he scored a lone podium at [Laguna Seca](/source/Laguna_Seca) on his way to ninth in points in the Hyundai Veloster TCR's final full season in TCR competition.[18] Alongside his sophomore season in Michelin Pilot Challenge, Gonzalez also returned to the [Mazda MX-5 Cup](/source/Mazda_MX-5_Cup), where he competed with Copeland Motorsports. Running in all but one round, Gonzalez won at [Daytona](/source/Daytona_International_Speedway),[19] [Watkins Glen](/source/Watkins_Glen_International),[20] [Virginia International Raceway](/source/Virginia_International_Raceway) and [Road Atlanta](/source/Road_Atlanta) to end the season 11th in points.[21][22]

### Toyota Development Driver and maiden title in cars (2023–)

After racing in the last three rounds of the [2023 Michelin Pilot Challenge](/source/2023_Michelin_Pilot_Challenge) with [Victor Gonzalez Racing Team](/source/Victor_Gonzalez_Jr.)'s [Hyundai Elantra N TCR](/source/Hyundai_Elantra_N_TCR),[29] Gonzalez returned to the team for the following year for his third full-time season in the series' TCR class.[30] Racing alongside a revolving door of drivers, Gonzalez took his only podium of the season at [Virginia International Raceway](/source/Virginia_International_Raceway) alongside Morgan Burkhard.[31] During 2024, Gonzalez also raced for Saito Motorsport Group in the [Mazda MX-5 Cup](/source/2024_Mazda_MX-5_Cup) and Smooge Racing in the [GT4 America Series](/source/2024_GT4_America_Series).[32] In the former, Gonzalez took a lone win at [Sebring](/source/Sebring_International_Raceway),[33] whereas in the latter, Gonzalez won at [Sonoma](/source/Sonoma_Raceway) and [Indianapolis](/source/Indianapolis_Motor_Speedway) as he ended the year fourth in the Silver Cup points.[34][35]

Gonzalez returned to [Victor Gonzalez Racing Team](/source/Victor_Gonzalez_Jr.) for 2025,[36] whilst also joining RAFA Racing Team and BSI Racing to compete in both [GT4 America](/source/2025_GT4_America_Series) and [Mazda MX-5 Cup](/source/2025_Mazda_MX-5_Cup).[37] In the former, Gonzalez scored two podiums in the first six races of the season, before the team switched to the [Cupra León VZ TCR](/source/SEAT_Le%C3%B3n#León_Cup_Racer_and_León_TCR) ahead of [Road America](/source/Road_America).[38] With the new car, Gonzalez won at [Indianapolis](/source/Indianapolis_Motor_Speedway) and [Road Atlanta](/source/Road_Atlanta) to jump to fifth in the TCR standings at season's end.[39][40] In GT4 America, Gonzalez scored wins at [Circuit of the Americas](/source/Circuit_of_the_Americas),[41] [Barber](/source/Barber_Motorsports_Park) and [Indianapolis](/source/Indianapolis_Motor_Speedway) as well as four more podiums to end the season runner-up in the Silver class.[42][43] In MX-5 Cup, Gonzalez kicked off the year by winning at [Daytona](/source/Daytona_International_Speedway) and [St. Petersburg](/source/St._Petersburg_street_circuit),[44] before winning both races at [Barber](/source/Barber_Motorsports_Park) and race one at [Mosport](/source/Canadian_Tire_Motorsport_Park) as well as scoring a second-place finish at [VIR](/source/Virginia_International_Raceway) to end the season runner-up in points.[45][46]

The following year, Gonzalez continued with [Victor Gonzalez Racing Team](/source/Victor_Gonzalez_Jr.) for another season in the [Michelin Pilot Challenge](/source/2026_Michelin_Pilot_Challenge),[47] as well as remaining with BSI Racing and RAFA Racing Team to continue racing in the [Mazda MX-5 Cup](/source/2026_Mazda_MX-5_Cup) and [GT4 America Series](/source/2026_GT4_America_Series).[48] During 2026, Gonzalez also made a one-off appearance in the [NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series](/source/2026_NASCAR_O'Reilly_Auto_Parts_Series) for [Hettinger Racing](/source/Hettinger_Racing) at [Circuit of the Americas](/source/Circuit_of_the_Americas).[49]
