The [locks](/source/Canal_lock) in question are part of the [Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal](/source/Monmouthshire_%26_Brecon_Canal) in its southern section between [Newport](/source/Newport%2C_Wales) and [Pontypool](/source/Pontypool).
