Singing the anthem a cappella

The **Tuvan Internationale** ([Tuvan](/source/Tuvan_language): Тыва Интернационал, [\[tʰɯˈʋɑ intʲeɾnɐtsi.ɐˈnɑɫ\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA); [Russian](/source/Russian_language): Тувинский Интернационал) is a [socialist song](/source/List_of_socialist_songs) set to a Tuvan traditional melody. It was the national anthem of the [Tuvan People's Republic](/source/Tuvan_People's_Republic) from 1921 to 1944.[1] It is often incorrectly listed as the [Tuvan language](/source/Tuvan_language) version of "[The Internationale](/source/The_Internationale)" despite the two songs having almost nothing in common aside from similar names. With a different melody and different lyrics, the only similarity between the two songs is the fact that they are about a [Workers' International](/source/List_of_left-wing_internationals). Even then, however, The Internationale is about the [First International](/source/International_Workingmen's_Association) whereas the Tuvan Internationale is about the [Third International](/source/Communist_International). [The Internationale](/source/The_Internationale) actually has a Tuvan version.[2]

When the [revolutions after the First World War](/source/Revolutions_of_1917%E2%80%931923) came to a close, [communists](/source/Communism) managed to gain power in only three countries: the [Soviet Union](/source/Soviet_Union), [Tuva](/source/Tuvan_People's_Republic) and [Mongolia](/source/Mongolian_People's_Republic). After [the Soviet Union was formed](/source/Treaty_on_the_Creation_of_the_USSR), it adopted The Internationale as its anthem. In honour of this, composers in Tuva and Mongolia created the Tuvan Internationale and [Mongol Internationale](/source/Mongol_Internationale). The Mongol Internationale later served as the [national anthem of Mongolia](/source/National_anthem_of_Mongolia) from 1924 to 1950.

The song was included on the [Huun-Huur-Tu](/source/Huun-Huur-Tu) album "60 Horses In My Herd. Old Songs And Tunes Of Tuva".[3]
