# Tuff Enuff Records

British record label

**Tuff Enuff Records** was a British [queer](/source/Queercore)/[riot grrrl](/source/Riot_grrrl) record label based in [Brighton](/source/Brighton), England.[1]

## History

Tuff Enuff was established in 2012 as a spin-off from associated club night Riots Not Diets,[2] and specialises in releasing [DIY](/source/DIY_culture) [punk](/source/Punk_rock) and [lo-fi](/source/APF_Brigade)/[underground music](/source/Underground_music). The label is considered to be in the tradition of [Slampt Records](/source/Slampt)[3] as well as more recent British queercore labels such as Homocrime and Irrk.[4]

First release was compilation album *Why Diet When You Could Riot?*, which was favourably reviewed in [Maximum Rocknroll](/source/Maximum_Rocknroll) and elsewhere[5] and included tracks from [Ste McCabe](/source/Ste_McCabe) and [Trash Kit](/source/Rachel_Aggs). Two further compilations followed, 2013's *Carry On Rioting* and 2014's *I Know Why the Caged Grrrl Sings*,[6] including tracks by [Shrag](/source/Shrag) and [Shopping](/source/Rachel_Aggs), respectively.

The label released a series of well-received cassette [EPs](/source/Extended_Play) by bands such as [Frau](/source/Frau_(band)),[7] No Ditching,[8][9] Dog Legs,[10] [The Ethical Debating Society](/source/The_Ethical_Debating_Society)[11] and [Big Joanie](/source/Big_Joanie);[12] vinyl [singles](/source/Single_(music)) by Men Oh Pause[13][14] and Slum Of Legs;[15][16][17] as well as vinyl [albums](/source/Album) by [Roseanne Barr](/source/Roseanne_Barr),[18][1][19] Daskinsey4[20] and Ye Nuns,[21][22] the latter band featuring [Debbie Smith](/source/Debbie_Smith_(musician)), [Charley Stone](/source/Charley_Stone) and former members of [Mambo Taxi](/source/Mambo_Taxi) and [thee Headcoatees](/source/Thee_Headcoatees) playing covers of songs by [The Monks](/source/The_Monks).[23]
