**Tsuyama Station** (津山駅, *Tsuyama-eki*) is a junction passenger [railway station](/source/Railway_station) located in the city of [Tsuyama](/source/Tsuyama%2C_Okayama), [Okayama Prefecture](/source/Okayama_Prefecture), [Japan](/source/Japan), operated by [West Japan Railway Company](/source/West_Japan_Railway_Company) (JR West).[1]

## Lines

Tsuyama Station is served by the [Kishin Line](/source/Kishin_Line) and [Tsuyama Line](/source/Tsuyama_Line). It is located 86.3 kilometers from the southern [terminus](/source/Terminal_station) of the Kishin Line at [Himeji](/source/Himeji_Station) and 58.7 kilometers from the southern terminus of the Tsuyama Line at [Okayama](/source/Okayama_Station). Train of the [Inbi Line](/source/Inbi_Line) normally continue past the nominal terminus of the line at [Higashi-Tsuyama](/source/Higashi-Tsuyama_Station) using the tracks of the Tsuyama Line to terminate at Tsuyama Station.

## Station layout

The station consists of two ground-level [island platforms](/source/Island_platform) connected to the station building by an underground passage. The station has a *[Midori no Madoguchi](/source/Midori_no_Madoguchi)* staffed ticket office.

## History

Tsuyama Station opened on 21 August 1923.[2] With the privatization of [Japanese National Railways](/source/Japanese_National_Railways) (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.[2]
