**Tsekone Ridge**, also called **Tsekone Peak** and **Black Knight Cone**, is an isolated [ridge](/source/Ridge) on the [Big Raven Plateau](/source/Big_Raven_Plateau) of the [Tahltan Highland](/source/Tahltan_Highland) in northwestern [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), Canada. It is located southeast of [Telegraph Creek](/source/Telegraph_Creek) at the north side of [Mount Edziza Provincial Park](/source/Mount_Edziza_Provincial_Park) between [Eve Cone](/source/Eve_Cone) and [Mount Edziza](/source/Mount_Edziza).[1]

## History

The name of this ridge was officially adopted on January 2, 1980, after having been submitted by the [Geological Survey of Canada](/source/Geological_Survey_of_Canada). It is [Tahltan](/source/Tahltan_language) in origin and translates to *stone fire*.[1]

## Geology

Tsekone Ridge is a [subglacial mound](/source/Subglacial_mound) that formed in the [Pleistocene](/source/Pleistocene) epoch when this area was buried beneath glacial ice during the last [ice age](/source/Ice_age). It is associated with the [Mount Edziza volcanic complex](/source/Mount_Edziza_volcanic_complex) which in turn forms part of the [Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province](/source/Northern_Cordilleran_Volcanic_Province).[2]
