He has previously played for the [Melbourne Storm](/source/Melbourne_Storm) in the [National Rugby League](/source/National_Rugby_League). Powell was contracted to the [Gold Coast Titans](/source/Gold_Coast_Titans) and the [Brisbane Broncos](/source/Brisbane_Broncos) in the [NRL](/source/NRL). He also played for the [Brisbane Tigers](/source/Brisbane_Tigers), as well as the [Burleigh Bears](/source/Burleigh_Bears) in two separate spells in the [Queensland Cup](/source/Queensland_Cup).[3] ## Background Powell was born in [Hervey Bay, Queensland](/source/Hervey_Bay%2C_Queensland), Australia.[4] He played for the Goondiwindi Boars as a junior. He played SEQ White at under 16 level in the 2017 QRL State Championship. At under 18 level he played for the [Norths Devils](/source/Norths_Devils) in the 2018 [Mal Meninga Cup](/source/Mal_Meninga_Cup). The following season he moved to the [Burleigh Bears](/source/Burleigh_Bears), playing in the 2019 Mal Meninga Cup. He played for the [Burleigh](/source/Burleigh_Bears) Colts side between 2019 and 2021.[5] Powell represented [Queensland](/source/Queensland_rugby_league_team) at both under-16 and under-18 level.[6][7] ## Career Powell was a development player for the [Gold Coast Titans](/source/Gold_Coast_Titans) in the [NRL](/source/National_Rugby_League), joining the club on trial in 2019 and leaving the club at the end of the [2021 NRL season](/source/2021_NRL_season).[8][9] He made his debut in April 2021 for the [Burleigh Bears](/source/Burleigh_Bears) against the [Tweed Heads Seagulls](/source/Tweed_Heads_Seagulls) in the [Queensland Cup](/source/2021_Queensland_Cup). He played 19 reserve grade games for the [Bears](/source/Burleigh_Bears) between 2021 and 2022.
