# Trinca Airport

**Trinca Airport** was a public use [airport](/source/Airport) in [Sussex County, New Jersey](/source/Sussex_County,_New_Jersey), United States.[1] The airport was owned by [Green Township](/source/Green_Township,_New_Jersey) and located three [nautical miles](/source/Nautical_mile) (6 [km](/source/Kilometre)) southwest of the [central business district](/source/Central_business_district) of [Andover](/source/Andover,_New_Jersey).[1] Purchased by the municipality of [Green Township](/source/Green_Township,_New_Jersey), Trinca was closed on September 30, 2020.[2][3][4]

## Facilities and aircraft

Trinca Airport covered an area of 12 [acres](/source/Acre) (5 [ha](/source/Hectare)) at an [elevation](/source/Elevation) of 600 feet (183 m) above [mean sea level](/source/Mean_sea_level). It had one [runway](/source/Runway) designated 6/24 with a [turf](/source/Grass) surface measuring 1,924 by 135 feet (586 x 41 m).[1]

For the 12-month period ending January 1, 2013, the airport had 11,395 [general aviation](/source/General_aviation) aircraft operations, an average of 31 per day. At that time there were 10 aircraft based at this airport: 70% single-[engine](/source/Aircraft_engine), 20% multi-engine, and 10% [ultralight](/source/Ultralight).[1]
