# Triangle Point

**Triangle Point** is the low ice-free tipped point forming the northwest side of the entrance to [Shopski Cove](/source/Shopski_Cove) in the south coast of [Parvomay Neck](/source/Parvomay_Neck) linking the northwest and southeast parts of [Greenwich Island](/source/Greenwich_Island_(South_Shetland_Islands)) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). The area was frequented by early 19th century [sealers](/source/Seal_hunting) operating from [Yankee Harbour](/source/Yankee_Harbour).

The feature was charted and descriptively named by the [Discovery Investigations](/source/Discovery_Investigations) in 1935.

## Location

The point is located at [62°31′19″S 59°50′39″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=62_31_19_S_59_50_39_W) which is 2.9 km west by north of Spit Point (the north extremity of [Provadiya Hook](/source/Provadiya_Hook) and an entrance point to Yankee Harbour), 7.44 km northwest of [Ephraim Bluff](/source/Ephraim_Bluff), 7.32 km north-northeast of [Half Moon Island](/source/Half_Moon_Island), 8.27 km east of [Inott Point](/source/Inott_Point), [Livingston Island](/source/Livingston_Island) and 1.4 km southeast of [Kaspichan Point](/source/Kaspichan_Point). British mapping in 1935 and 1968, Argentine in 1948, Chilean in 1974, and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009.
