== Career ==
Read began his professional hockey career in 2002 with the [ECHL](/source/ECHL)'s [Toledo Storm](/source/Toledo_Storm). He also played in the ECHL for the [Peoria Rivermen](/source/Peoria_Rivermen_(ECHL)) and the [Long Beach Ice Dogs](/source/Long_Beach_Ice_Dogs). Read then moved to the [Central Hockey League](/source/Central_Hockey_League) for a brief spell with the [Austin Ice Bats](/source/Austin_Ice_Bats) before spending two and a half years with the [Amarillo Gorillas](/source/Amarillo_Gorillas). He moved to the UK in 2008, signing with the [Basingstoke Bison](/source/Basingstoke_Bison) and left on September 30, 2009 [United Kingdom](/source/United_Kingdom) to sign for [French](/source/France) team [Rapaces de Gap](/source/Rapaces_de_Gap).
