The **Trefnydd**, or **Leader of the House** in English, and formerly **Minister for Assembly Business**, is a member of the [Cabinet](/source/Politics_of_Wales) in the [Welsh Government](/source/Welsh_Government), who manages the government's business in the [Senedd](/source/Senedd) (the Welsh Parliament; Welsh: *Senedd Cymru*; formerly the *National Assembly for Wales*). The current trefnydd is [Heledd Fychan](/source/Heledd_Fychan), since May 2026.

The post is responsible for organising government business in the Senedd.[17]

In May 2016, alongside the role of [Chief Whip](/source/Chief_Whip_(Wales)), the Leader of the House's responsibilities were:[18]

- To manage the government's business within the Assembly (now Senedd), in line with standing orders.

- To deliver a business statement weekly

- To represent the government on the Business Committee
