# Travis Perry

**Travis Perry** (born April 20, 2005) is an American [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) player for the [Dayton Flyers](/source/Dayton_Flyers_men's_basketball) of the [Atlantic 10 Conference](/source/Atlantic_10_Conference). He previously played for the [Kentucky Wildcats](/source/Kentucky_Wildcats_men's_basketball) and [Ole Miss Rebels](/source/Ole_Miss_Rebels_men's_basketball).

## Early life and high school

Perry grew up in [Eddyville, Kentucky](/source/Eddyville,_Kentucky) and attended Lyon County High School.[1] He began playing for Lyon County's varsity basketball team while he was in the seventh grade.[2] Perry was named [Kentucky Mr. Basketball](/source/Kentucky_Mr._Basketball) after averaging 32.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 4.7 steals per game as a senior.[3] He was also named the MVP of the [KHSAA Sweet Sixteen](/source/Sweet_Sixteen_(KHSAA_State_Basketball_Championship)) after scoring 27 points in Lyon County's 67–58 win over [Harlan County High School](/source/Harlan_County_High_School) in the state championship game.[4] Perry finished his high school career with a state-record 5,381 career points.[5]

Perry was rated a consensus four-star recruit and committed to play college basketball at [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky_Wildcats_men's_basketball) over offers from [Alabama](/source/Alabama_Crimson_Tide_men's_basketball), [Cincinnati](/source/Cincinnati_Bearcats_men's_basketball), [Ole Miss](/source/Ole_Miss_Rebels_men's_basketball), and [Western Kentucky](/source/Western_Kentucky_Hilltoppers_basketball).[6] He signed a [National Letter of Intent](/source/National_Letter_of_Intent) (NLI) to play for the Wildcats on November 15, 2023, during the early signing period.[7] Perry later reaffirmed his commitment to Kentucky after head coach [John Calipari](/source/John_Calipari) left the program to become the head coach at [Arkansas](/source/Arkansas_Razorbacks_men's_basketball).[8]

## College career

Perry enrolled at the [University of Kentucky](/source/University_of_Kentucky) in June 2024 in order to take part in the [Wildcats](/source/Kentucky_Wildcats_men's_basketball)' summer practices.[9] He played sparingly for Kentucky, averaging 2.7 points per game. Following the season Perry transferred to [Ole Miss](/source/Ole_Miss_Rebels_men's_basketball). He averaged 5.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game for the Rebels. Perry transferred again after the season, this time to [Dayton](/source/Dayton_Flyers_men's_basketball).[10]
