# Traverse River

The **Traverse River** is an 11.9-mile (19.2-kilometre) river in [Keweenaw](/source/Keweenaw_County,_Michigan) and [Houghton](/source/Houghton_County,_Michigan) counties on the [Upper Peninsula](/source/Upper_Peninsula) of [Michigan](/source/Michigan) in the [United States](/source/United_States). It flows into [Lake Superior](/source/Lake_Superior) just north of [Keweenaw Bay](/source/Keweenaw_Bay).
