**Transvolga Region** or **Transvolga** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Заволжье, **Zavolzhye**) is a territory to the East of [Volga River](/source/Volga_River) bounded by the Volga, the [Ural Mountains](/source/Ural_Mountains), the [Northern Ridge](/source/Northern_Ridge), and the [Caspian Depression](/source/Caspian_Depression).

The region is traditionally subdivided into the elevated **High Transvolga** (Высокое Заволжье) in the East and the [lowland](/source/Lowland) **Low Transvolga** (Низкое Заволжье) by the left bank of Volga between [Kazan](/source/Kazan) and [Kamyshin](/source/Kamyshin).

The region includes the [Volga-Ural petroleum and gas province](/source/Volga-Ural_petroleum_and_gas_province).

[Kuybyshev Reservoir](/source/Kuybyshev_Reservoir) is within Low Transvolga.
