# Totally Boyband

***Totally Boyband*** is a television programme directed by Ross Norman that aired in the United Kingdom on [MTV](/source/MTV_(British_and_Irish_TV_channel)). The programme debuted on 18 September 2006 and aired on Sunday nights at 21:30 ([GMT](/source/GMT)). The premise centred on the former members of [boy bands](/source/Boy_band) and pop music bands attempting to regain their former fame by regrouping into a new band called [Upper Street](/source/Upper_Street_(band)). A single called "The One (That Got Away)" was released on 23 October 2006, but spent only one week at number 35 after entering the [UK Singles Chart](/source/UK_Singles_Chart) on 29 October.

The participants were:

- [Danny Wood](/source/Danny_Wood) ([New Kids on the Block](/source/New_Kids_on_the_Block))

The single was later recorded without the help of Latchford-Evans, who was sacked by the rest of the band before their debut release due to a disagreement. He described the band's manager in the program, Jonathan Shalit as "two-faced".[1]

It was announced in October 2006, that US music network [VH1](/source/VH1) would be producing its own version of the show, titled *[Mission: Man Band](/source/Mission:_Man_Band)* with [Bryan Abrams](/source/Bryan_Abrams) ([Color Me Badd](/source/Color_Me_Badd)), [Rich Cronin](/source/Rich_Cronin) ([LFO](/source/LFO_(American_band))), [Chris Kirkpatrick](/source/Chris_Kirkpatrick) ([*NSYNC](/source/*NSYNC)) and [Jeff Timmons](/source/Jeff_Timmons) ([98 Degrees](/source/98_Degrees)).[2]
