He made his stage début at [Chat Noir](/source/Chat_Noir) in 1927. He played at [Balkongen](/source/Balkongen) from 1927 to 1928, and later worked for the [National Theatre](/source/National_Theatre_(Oslo)), [Det Nye Teater](/source/Det_Nye_Teater), [Centralteatret](/source/Centralteatret) and [Folketeatret](/source/Folketeatret).
