W., 1934 (20 Jan.) [ref. 1416] ''Descriptions of new fishes obtained 1907 to 1910, chiefly in the Philippine Islands and adjacent seas.'' Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 85 (for 1933): 233-367.] It is a [marine](/source/Marine_biology), deep water-dwelling eel which is known from the western [Indian](/source/Indian_Ocean) and southwestern [Pacific Ocean](/source/Pacific_Ocean), including the [Philippines](/source/Philippines) and [Indonesia](/source/Indonesia). It is known to dwell at a depth of 886 metres. Males can reach a maximum [total length](/source/total_length) of 4.3 centimetres.
