# Tony Sund

**Tony Sund** (born 4 August 1995) is a Finnish professional [ice hockey](/source/Ice_hockey) [defenceman](/source/Defenceman) for [HIFK](/source/HIFK_Hockey) of [Liiga](/source/Liiga). Internationally, he represented the [Finnish national team](/source/Finland_men's_national_ice_hockey_team).[1]

He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the [San Jose Sharks](/source/San_Jose_Sharks) on 9 May 2019,[2] and represented Finland at the [2021 IIHF World Championship](/source/2021_IIHF_World_Championship).[3][4]

On March 3, 2023, Sund's [NHL](/source/NHL) rights were traded to the [Montreal Canadiens](/source/Montreal_Canadiens) as part of a three-team trade.[5]
