**Tony Molina** is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from [Millbrae, California](/source/Millbrae,_California). He began playing in [hardcore punk](/source/Hardcore_punk) bands as a teenager and young adult before establishing himself as a solo performer of [indie rock](/source/Indie_rock) and [power pop](/source/Power_pop) songs.[1] He has released albums on [Slumberland](/source/Slumberland_Records)[2] and [Matador Records](/source/Matador_Records).[3]

Molina's solo career began in 2008, when two friends could not show up to a recording session, and asked him to take the session for them. Molina agreed, and recorded his solo songs during that session. These recordings became his debut solo album, *[Embarrassing Times](/source/Embarrassing_Times)*.[4]

Molina’s second solo album, *[Dissed and Dismissed](/source/Dissed_and_Dismissed)*, was awarded a score of 7.5 out of 10 by *[Pitchfork Magazine](/source/Pitchfork_Magazine)*.[5] His follow-up album, *[Kill the Lights](/source/Kill_the_Lights_(Tony_Molina_album))*, was named *Stereogum'*s album of the week in July of 2018, and received praise from [*Paste*](/source/Paste_Magazine) and *[Vice](/source/Vice_Magazine)* magazines.[6][7][8] He has also recorded and toured with [The Softies](/source/The_Softies) and released material as [The Lost Days](/source/The_Lost_Days), a duo with Sarah Rose Janko of [Dawn Riding](/source/Dawn_Riding).[9][10][11] Molina was previously a member of [Ovens](/source/Ovens_(band)) and [Violent Change](/source/Violent_Change).[1]
