'''Tongbaite''' is a rare mineral that has the chemical formula Cr<sub>3</sub>C<sub>2</sub>, or [chromium carbide](/source/chromium_carbide).

It was first described in 1983 for an occurrence in Liu village, [Tongbai County](/source/Tongbai_County) (桐柏县), [Henan Province](/source/Henan_Province), [China](/source/China) and named for the locality.<ref name=Mindat/> It occurs in an [ultramafic](/source/ultramafic) rock deposit.<ref name=HBM/>  It has also been found in the [Tibet Autonomous Region](/source/Tibet_Autonomous_Region) and the [Isovsky District](/source/Isovsky_District), in the [Urals](/source/Urals) of Russia.<ref name=Mindat/>
