# Tommy Wind

**Tommy Wind** is a [magician](/source/Magic_(illusion)) from [Staten Island](/source/Staten_Island) in [New York City](/source/New_York_City). He has performed in many of his own original shows, combining illusion with rock and roll music, in New York City, [Atlantic City, New Jersey](/source/Atlantic_City,_New_Jersey), and [Las Vegas](/source/Las_Vegas_Valley), [Nevada](/source/Nevada).

Tommy began his career when he was only 7 after his grandfather introduced him to magic by showing him the disappearing hanky trick.[1] He has appeared in TV shows including [Criss Angel](/source/Criss_Angel)'s "Mindfreak" and [NBC](/source/NBC)'s "I Do!",[1] and also performed in the Masters of Illusion Live show at [Bally’s Hotel and Casino](/source/Bally's_Las_Vegas), and in 25 episodes of the [TV counterpart](/source/Masters_of_Illusion_(TV_series)).[2][3]

In 2009, Wind received an award for *Best Teen Magician* from the World Magic Awards.[4][2] In 2016, Wind won the [Merlin Award](/source/International_Magicians_Society#Merlin_Award) for *Best Family Friendly Magic Show in the World*.[5] [6] As of 2019, Wind is performing at the [Oyo Hotel & Casino](/source/Oyo_Hotel_%26_Casino) near the [Las Vegas Strip](/source/Las_Vegas_Strip) in [Paradise, Nevada](/source/Paradise,_Nevada).[7]
