# Tom Kessler

**Tom Kessler** is an American [politician](/source/Politician). He served as a [Republican member](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)) for the 96th district of the [Kansas House of Representatives](/source/Kansas_House_of_Representatives).[1]

In 2021, Kessler won the election for the 96th district of the [Kansas House of Representatives](/source/Kansas_House_of_Representatives) against [Stephanie Yeager](/source/Stephanie_Yeager) with 53.3% of the vote.[2][3] Kessler assumed his office on January 11, 2021.[2] In 2023 he ran unopposed and was re-elected to his position.[2] He owned a [liquor store](/source/Liquor_store).[4]

In 2025, Kessler as Chair of the House Federal State and Affairs Committee pushed forward a bill to legalize the sale of tobacco products in vending machines.[5] The bill died in committee.[6]
